CARDIAC PROSTHESIS
PROSTHESIS FOR TREATMENT OF AORTIC DISSECTION
DJUMBODIS DISSECTION SYSTEM
Cardiac surgery device

The risk of acute rupture of the ascending aorta in the pericardium justifies urgent intervention for the acute type-A aortic dissection.

The classic technique consists of replacing the ascending aorta by using a prosthesis.

When the port of entry of the dissection is at the level of the transverse portion of the aortich arch, the classic technique consists of replacement of the arch by a prosthesis. The procedure then becomes more difficult and the prognosis less favorable.

To avoid performing this difficult procedure in emergency situation, the solution is a procedure that combines the perioperative stenting of the aortich arch with the DJUMBODIS DISSECTION SYSTEM and replacement of the ascending aorta by a prosthesis.

aortic dissection schema

Treatment of Type A aortic dissection in case of mixed procedure :

  • Surgical replacement of ascending aorta.
  • DJUMBODIS positionning in descending thoracic and abdominal aorta.
Djumbodis anastomose
  • The DJUMBODIS articulations allow the prosthesis to follow the aorta shape.

  • The balloon compliance allows the DJUMBODIS opening conformed to aorta anatomy.

  • The DJUMBODIS Dissection System allows to exclude the false lumen of thoracic and abdominal aorta.
The DJUMBODIS positioning
is performed after ascending
aorta resection.
cardiac prosthesis premounted

The device consists of a Saint Côme stent mounted on a compliant balloon.

The stent is made of stainless steel 316L biocompatible, its length consisting of elements separated from each others by joints of 1 cm each.

The stent can be adapted to the shape of the aortic arch.
